How thick should my concrete slab be?
It depends on the load. Shed and patio pads are commonly around 4 inches, while garage floors, equipment pads, and slabs carrying heavier weight are poured thicker. We size every slab to how you'll actually use it.
Do you reinforce slabs with rebar or wire mesh?
Yes. Every structural slab gets steel reinforcement — rebar or welded wire mesh — placed for the load. Reinforcement helps the slab resist movement, spread weight, and hold together as it cures.
How long before I can build on or park on a new slab?
You can usually walk on a slab within a day or so, but it keeps gaining strength over time. We'll tell you exactly when your slab is ready for building, vehicles, or equipment based on the mix and conditions.
Will my slab crack, and what do control joints do?
Concrete naturally shrinks as it cures, so some hairline cracking is normal. We cut control joints at planned spots to steer cracks where they belong — keeping them straight, clean, and out of sight rather than random across the surface.
